Mastercraft Kitchens Wellington made an important joinery contribution to round off the significant bedroom renovation designed by house owner and architect Gary Doddrell.
“It was a fairly small room, which we extended by enclosing our balcony,” he says.
“And now we’ve got a walk-in wardrobe with nice lighting and a little window seat, and the alcove is formed by the back of the bed head. There is much more storage space and the theme is exactly like the kitchen and other rooms.
“I had some drawings of this with the idea of the alcove and the double-sided bed head, and designer Katie had to make that work in terms of construction. Getting a curve of a couple of metres high was quite a lot of work for the factory guys.
“They did all of that at Mastercraft Kitchens Wellington and I think they were quite pleased with the result, with just one piece of laminate. Co-owner Tony Hawes said he'd never seen his joinery used in this context, so it was quite nice to do something different.”
