Stylishly simple

These homeowners like to keep things simple – “no bells and whistles!”

The prep kitchen is the workhorse of the house – accommodating dishwasher, main oven and main fridge – and is the space where all of the baking and food preparation gets done. The roller door then conveniently hides all appliances when not in use and similarly a sliding glass inset door “hides all the mess”.

This space – which was the first room drawn on the plans when the homeowners designed their house – also holds all of the household’s food and day-to-day crockery and cutlery – in fact with the additional of an extractor fan and hob, it would be a fully-functioning kitchen.

Complementing this prep area, the main kitchen is effectively the “show pony” of the house – its oven serving as a backup with integrated fridge “usually only containing milk to make the coffees”. This kitchen “stores all the good stuff😊” and includes a hob so that when entertaining, the householders can attend to stovetop cooking without being shut away.

Some of its many drawers are used to house trays, oils and spices, with a few hidden drawers storing platters and other occasionally-used items. Behind the painted glass doors are further drawers used for cups, glasses and other crockery.
